These Air Fryer Soft Cinnamon Pretzels are a quick and delicious snack, perfectly soft on the inside with a perfectly sweet cinnamon-sugar coating. Made with simple ingredients and cooked to golden perfection in an air fryer, they’re an irresistible treat to enjoy warm, ideally paired with chocolate sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

Pretzels

  • 4 Soft Pretzel Sticks
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted Butter, melted

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Ground Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Air Fry Pretzels: Place the 4 soft pretzel sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Set the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) and cook for 2 minutes to warm and slightly crisp the pretzels.
  2. Prepare Pretzel Bites: Remove the pretzels from the air fryer and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Brush the pieces generously with melted unsalted butter to ensure a rich flavor and help the topping adhere.
  3. Second Air Fry: Return the buttered pretzel bites to the air fryer basket and cook at 320°F for another 1 minute. This helps set the butter and creates a slight crisp on the outside while keeping the inside soft.
  4. Mix Cinnamon Sugar: While the pretzel bites are cooking, combine 3/4 cup brown sugar, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Stir well to evenly distribute the cinnamon in the sugar mixture.
  5. Coat Pretzel Bites: As soon as the pretzel bites come out of the air fryer, toss or dust them thoroughly with the cinnamon-sugar mixture, coating each piece evenly while they’re still warm to help the topping stick beautifully.
  6. Serve: Serve the cinnamon sugar pretzel bites warm, ideally accompanied by chocolate sauce for dipping to elevate this sweet snack experience.

Notes

  • Use soft pretzel sticks for the best texture; hard pretzels will not yield the same soft bite.
  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes, but adjust timing accordingly.
  • For extra indulgence, drizzle melted chocolate over the coated pretzels instead of serving as a dip.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days but best enjoyed fresh.
