This Keto Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry is a low-carb, high-protein dish featuring tender flank steak and crisp broccoli cooked in a savory soy and sesame sauce. Perfect for a quick, healthy dinner that fits a ketogenic diet, it combines simple ingredients into a flavorful and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb (450g) flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain

Vegetables

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced

Oils and Sauces

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (or olive oil)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Sweetener and Garnish

  • 1 teaspoon erythritol or another keto-friendly sweetener (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Beef: In a large skillet or wok, heat the coconut oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced flank steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Once cooked, remove the beef from the skillet and set aside to keep warm.
  2. Stir-Fry Broccoli and Aromatics: Using the same skillet, add the broccoli florets along with the minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp, ensuring the aromatics release their flavors without burning.
  3. Combine and Finish: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, and erythritol (if using). Stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients and cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and the sauce to slightly thicken.
  4. Serve: Transfer the stir-fry to serving dishes. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for added flavor and texture. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • Erythritol is optional and can be omitted or substituted with another keto-friendly sweetener according to taste.
  • Slicing the steak thinly against the grain helps keep the beef tender.
  • This dish can be served with cauliflower rice for a complete keto meal.
  • Use fresh ginger and garlic for the best flavor impact.
